Leadership
Dr. Schneider was born and raised in Nokomis, IL, and resides in Marshall with his family. He is one of roughly 100 CRNAs in the country with a certification in chronic pain management (NSPM-C). Dr. Schneider has lectured for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in their Doctorate Nurse Anesthesia Program on topics such as acute and chronic pain management, chemistry, physics, and anesthesia pharmacology. He also helps train current CRNAs to receive their pain management credential through the Chronic Pain Management Fellowship, a nationally accredited program through Texas Christian University. Dr. Schneider's doctoral work focused on ketamine infusions for chronic pain and major depression.

Prior to earning his master’s degree in anesthesia, Dr. Schneider worked three years as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, one of the top pediatric hospitals in the nation. He received several awards at the hospital, including top clinic performer. He also worked as a chemist for Sigma Aldrich before starting nursing school.

Dr. Schneider is an independent CRNA at a Critical Access Hospital providing an acute and chronic pain management program in addition to anesthesia services.

He is also a regional speaker on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia techniques.
Dr. Kevin Stein, DNAP, CRNA, APRN
Co-Founder
Dr. Kevin Stein is is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist with over 15 years of experience and the co-founder of Evolutionary Healthcare. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004, his Master of Science with a specialization in Nurse Anesthesia at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2008, and his Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 2017.
Dr. Stein is an Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he has taught clinical and didactic courses in nurse anesthesiology for 15 years. He has previously served as the Clinical Liaison, Assistant Director, Director, and Chair for the Department of Nurse Anesthesiology. Before founding Evolutionary Healthcare, he was the Vice President for Culture and Innovation at a nationwide anesthesia staffing company. He currently sits as the Immediate Past President of the Illinois Association of Nurse Anesthesiology and has previously served his state professional association as a region director, president-elect, and president.
Dr. Stein was recognized as a March of Dimes “Nurse of the Year” in 2021 and as one of Illinois’ 40 Under Forty Emerging Nurse Leaders in 2017. He received the Teaching Excellence Award at SIUE in 2018 for his dedication to teaching and commitment to excellence.
